Welcome to the world of Ricky Diamonds!

RICKY DIAMONDS the show is a half-hour fish-out-of-water comedy about a self-aggrandizing singer and the small town he comes to call home. It’s an honestly funny, over-the-top, heartfelt, musical celebration of community and redemption set amidst some of the most gorgeous scenery this country has to offer.

It’s about finding light in unlikely places.  A comedy with real laughs and heart, where a flawed showman helps a small town discover its own sparkle. Imagine Ted Lasso’s optimism, Northern Exposure’s eccentric small-town charm, and the comedic bite of Veep, all capped off with a showstopping musical finale.

Episodes: RICKY DIAMONDS has a few really strong story engines that we get to work with, and they mostly run like this:

• Ricky tries to do a job or gets put in a place where he shouldn’t be. He manages to make it work and everyone winds up liking him in spite of his whole deal.

• Ricky gets jealous of someone being more popular and debases himself trying to get back on top.

• Something in Ricky’s past comes back to bite him in the ass or make him look foolish.

• Ricky sees an opportunity in a thing, but it would be inappropriate for him to make the thing all about him… and then he does it anyway.

The world of Ricky Diamonds will be populated by townsfolk who come and go, by tourists and passing travellers. The local businesses and local mythologies will all play into the show, but we’re not going to go out of our way to call attention to them.
